We’re excited to share a heartwarming story as we prepare for a new wave of move-ins at Senior Chudo Village 2. Among the soon-to-be residents are Volodymyr and Valentyna, who finally have something to look forward to for the first time in years of war.

Witnessing their new dream home come to life has been a beacon of hope in the aftermath of so much darkness. Soon, they’ll have the chance to live in peace and dignity once again—a gift that seemed impossible not long ago.

However, our mission is far from complete. Thousands of elderly war victims still await rescue, support, and a place to heal. At Hansen Ukrainian Mission, we are committed to providing a brighter future for those who have endured the unimaginable. Together, we can restore hope and dignity to those who need it most.

Even in the hardest times, Ukrainians continue to inspire with their humility and gratitude for the good that comes their way. This Thanksgiving, as we celebrate a holiday centered around thankfulness, we want to share a story that embodies resilience and gratitude.

During a long and difficult war, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the weight of the challenges it brings. Yet simple gestures, like planting flowers, help preserve a sense of normalcy and hope. These small acts bring people together, fostering a strong and united community.

As the tulips bloom, adding vibrant color and life to our villages, they symbolize the promise of renewal. Just as spring brings fresh starts, Ukraine too will be reborn. The resilience of these flowers, and of the Ukrainian people, is a powerful reminder that light will always overcome darkness.

What might seem like a peaceful, ordinary day in this video is truly a gift for many in Ukraine. For a long time, days for these residents meant hiding in basements from explosions, clearing shrapnel from their yards, and enduring the hardships brought by Russian occupants.

Of course, the war is still here, reminding them of its presence with air alarms, but here they feel more protected and genuinely cared for, as they deserve at their respectful age. Our commitment to providing this safety and comfort won’t stop until more brave Ukrainians can feel secure once again in welcoming homes and supportive communities

It's hard to believe that Senior Chudo Village has been a home for so many senior war victims for a whole year now. Today, it has blossomed into Ukraine's first-of-its-kind senior living community, offering not just shelter, but a fresh start for those who lost everything due to the war.

The residents here endured unimaginable losses—their homes, communities, and friends. But in Senior Chudo Village, they’ve found something they thought was gone forever: a new place to call home. It's a space where they can finally feel safe, rebuild connections, and start healing—both mentally and physically.

Residents have created new lives here in a real community where people serve and support one another. They have various social clubs and volunteer groups that bring joy and fulfillment. They don't want to leave this place, and it’s not hard to understand why—here, they’ve found not only shelter but a sense of belonging and purpose.

This success story is not just about the village itself, but about the resilience of the human spirit. A year after its opening, Senior Chudo Village stands as a testament to the power of community, care, and compassion in rebuilding lives that were once shattered.

An inclusive vehicle for people with special needs has arrived in Chudo Village, ensuring that our residents with limited mobility can now travel comfortably to their destinations. Nothing can stop them from getting where they need to go, enhancing their independence and quality of life.

Chicken Coop is a special edition to our senior village. Because the name of our village means “miracle”, we call the eggs from our chickens “miracle eggs”. Here is a sneak peek of one day in the chicken coop.

Natalia lived in the Kherson region. Her village was under occupation and her house is now destroyed. Now she has a new job that allows her to help other residents of Chudo Village.

Raisa's family is from Hola Prystan (Kherson region). The husband has dementia. They lost their home and are now starting their lives anew in Chudo Village. Raise found a job saleswoman in the community store as it’s been her life's dream. Managing the operation of the local store brings her joy and a sense of purpose.

The grand opening of the clubhouse in the senior village marks an exciting new chapter for residents. The clubhouse is the heart of the village with a range of amenities designed to enhance the quality of life for its community members. Key features include a movie theater for entertainment, a dining hall that offers free daily hot meals, a beauty salon for personal care, and an on-site dentist office for convenient healthcare. The clubhouse promises to be a vibrant and essential gathering place, fostering social connections and providing vital services to all residents.

The citizens of the senior village have established a Nordic walking club,. Through regular walks, participants not only improve their physical fitness but also enhance their mental well-being by engaging in social interactions and enjoying the natural surroundings.
